We Owe it to Ourselves to Slow Down

Erin and Craig Coupe on Vacation in Italy

Inspiration is a surge of energy that precedes a new creation. The origin of the word inspire: "Latin inspirare ‘breathe or blow into’. The word was originally used of a divine or supernatural being, in the sense ‘impart a truth or idea to someone’".

Feeling inspired is to experience a sense that something new wants to come forth from within that is true and fresh. It's an energy that cannot be fully contained and wants to be expressed. When you’re inspired things seem to flow and dullness is lifted. Very little is needed to have an enjoyable experience no matter what you’re doing.

Human beings have operated in a negative mindset of overstimulation, obsessive repetition, and regurgitation of problems and avenging the past for too long. It’s led to a culture of professionals in a perpetual chase and nonstop survival mode at the expense of themselves or their families. Relentless and stifling to the human spirit, creativity and inspiration; it’s even made it seem that only the “lucky few” get to be who they want, do what they want, where they want. The corporate world has taken the brunt and it’s become, well, not very inspiring.

I've worked directly with thousands of corporate professionals and C-suite leaders at the highest ranks. I can confidently say contrary to popular belief it’s not peoples’ jobs that prevent a feeling of inspiration and spirit in their lives, it’s these three:

  1. Overthinking

  2. Identifying with emotions too much and becoming attached

  3. A sluggish body

We owe it to ourselves and to each other to slow down enough to engage in the moment that is right in front of us. Only then will you start to notice the creative energy in yourself and tend to it by taking care of all of YOU. When you do, you allow for others to do the same, in whatever ways bring them joy and meaning. You learn about yourself and others.

In January I set my intention for 2024 - EXPANSION - and it’s proving to be an expansive year for me, my business and my marriage.

If we’re connected on social media, you may have seen that my husband, Craig, has officially joined me in business. As Chief Growth Officer his role entails strategic growth initiatives in the B2B space in addition to new endeavors in the B2C realm. I couldn’t imagine a more suitable business partner than my best friend. Welcome Craig!

The masculine energy that Craig brings plus his vision and creativity will lend a new perspective and freshness that I’m thrilled about. What we create from our hearts and breathe into this world to transform humanity is sure to be well worth the many (ahem!) learning experiences we’ll have along this journey.

To commemorate and celebrate this huge transition, Craig and I recently took a very well deserved and much needed hiatus from careers and life. Our summer adventures sent us on over 80 hours of travel by car, train, airplane and boat across the US (with our boys) and Italy (just the two of us!). This was the first time ever we have taken three weeks away.

Our hearts are full, we are well rested, and back in action like never before ready to dive deep into serving our existing and future clients.

Companies and people all want the same thing: TO BE WHOLE, HAPPY, and CONSISTENT. They just don’t always know the path to get there.

Just at the halfway mark in the year there is SO much available to you, your team, your people and your company. The work we do, while highly inspiring, is more importantly actionable and transformational.

Let's discuss partnering - whether you want to:

  • grow personally

  • enrich the hearts and minds of your members

  • grow the people on your team

  • enhance the leadership in your company

It's a more enjoyable experience to work when inspired than not!
